Happy Tuesday!
It’s been about a month since “shelter in place” has been in effect in most of the US and other countries. Many of us are “somewhat” getting used to our new normal.
The great news is, I see a lot more people cooking at home and posting the dishes they made. It makes me really happy! Keep it up!
At the same time, I see many people complaining about being in a food rut.
How about you?
There are so many options to eat out and for pre-made meals at grocery stores, so when we are suddenly faced with having to cook all meals at home, it gets boring quickly.
We want to eat different foods that satisfy and nourish us and keep our immune systems strong. But we don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen, nor waste anything particularly during a time like this. I get that. To make things worse, looking for and having to follow recipes each time you cook something new is quite cumbersome, let alone time-consuming.
So, how do we maintain balance?
Many of you told me that you are worried about:
- How to cook without my usual ingredients?
- What do we do if this food shortage gets worse?
- How can we keep our immune system strong during a time like this?
- How can I cook all meals at home with my kids around?
- How can I stretch my food and make sure not to waste all the food I have?
- How can I avoid getting into a food rut, now that all the restaurants are closed?
To answer these questions, and to help you put together healthy and delicious meals easily day after day with a larger variety AND without spending hours in the kitchen, I’ve been doing regular live streaming on Facebook.
The good news is, it’s actually a great time to pick up a new essential life skill like cooking that will contribute to your family’s health and happiness for years to come.
As you have seen in my short videos, it’s a lot easier and more fun than you think.
